About AnonymityPolicies for the Archives have been established by the trustees' Archives Committee and are administered under that committee's direction. Because of the special nature of the materials in our collection, it is understood by all researchers that the relevant A.A. Traditions will be respected, in particular, the preservation of anonymity of all A.A. members including the researchers.
Anonymity of A.A. members, both alive and deceased, must be strictly maintained. Full names of writers and correspondents appear in the files; you are respectfully asked, if cited to quote only the first name and last initial, thus preserving A.A.’s Eleventh Tradition, the anonymity of its members at the level of the public media.
